Currently, small businesses with a turnover of less than £1M may, in certain circumstances, have their complaint referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
From 1 November 2009 new European Union legislation means that the definition of an eligible complainant will change to :
- private individuals and
- micro enterprises.
Micro enterprises are entities that have a turnover of less than €2 Million and fewer than 10 employees.
