There have been a couple of instances recently where "Claims Handlers" have targetted clients that Contracted Out of the State Scheme in order to help them "make a claim" for compensation.
The Compensation Act 2006 provides the statutory framework for the regulation of claims management activities and this is overseen by the Department for Constitutional Affairs. The Regulations came into force on 23rd April 2007.
